TeamA99E: A Legacy in Virtual Drifting
Founded in the early days of Gran Turismo 5 and Gran Turismo 6, TeamA99E quickly became a dominant force in the virtual drifting community, particularly in events such as the Virtual Drift Competition (VDC). Known for their exceptional skill and competitive spirit, the team earned a reputation for excellence in the world of virtual motorsports.
The origins of TeamA99E trace back to the Battlefield Bad Company 2 series, where the group originally formed with over 100 members. The name was chosen through collaboration with the team's members, and it was later refined when Gran Turismo 5 was released.

TeamA99E: The Name and Philosophy
TeamA99E stands for "Team Anarchy-99 Elite", with the slogan "Drift Warriors", written in Katakana. The team's founder, Angel Vicente, gave the group a bold and fearless identity, symbolized by their motto, "Low Warriors" with "Anarchy Style" in Katakana. This identity was further established in 2014 during Stance meets and virtual car meetups hosted by TeamA99E. Over time, this brand became synonymous with competitive excellence and was trademarked in 2016.

The Team’s Journey and Triumphs
The team remained small but formidable in Gran Turismo 5, with a handful of dedicated members, including a female driver from Brazil. Sadly, following the loss of a member, TeamA99E became a lone wolf in the virtual drifting world. Despite these challenges, the team maintained its dominance, becoming renowned as the "Drift King" of Gran Turismo, consistently winning both small and international drift competitions, including events at Fuji Speedway.

The Iconic Car: The Nismo Nissan 380RS
One of TeamA99E’s most iconic vehicles was the metallic blue Nismo Nissan 380RS Superleggera, featuring bright green/yellow wheels, representing the team’s signature colors. The car, known for its secretive tuning, originally featured 530+ horsepower but was later upgraded to an RB25 from a Blitz ER34, pushing 1100-1200hp. This car became synonymous with TeamA99E’s performance in Gran Turismo 5 and Gran Turismo 6.

YouTube and Media Presence
In 2010, TeamA99E launched its YouTube channel under the name SUPER1SNIPER, which was later deleted following a partnership with GTChannel.com. Due to changes in YouTube’s policy, the partnership ended, and the team’s channel was rebranded as TeamA99E with Drift Warriors written in Katakana. The team continues to produce a variety of content, including gameplay, cinematic videos, automotive features, and real-life content such as Vlogs and illegal street drifting footage.

Mascot and Branding
The team’s mascot, Yoko Littner from Gurren Lagann, has been a part of TeamA99E’s identity since 2010, chosen by founder Angel due to its personal significance. Some depictions of the mascot feature heterochromia eyes—one gold, one green—mirroring the colors of the team’s signature Nismo 380RS wheels.

Collaborations and Recognition
Over the years, TeamA99E has built a global following, with support from fans in the USA, Europe, and Asia. The team has collaborated with renowned drifting groups such as Tokyo Street Junkies (TSJ) and Kanagawa Yokai, as well as various motorcycle and car clubs from the Bosozoku community in Japan.
Additionally, TeamA99E was invited to contribute footage for the Gran Turismo film Pushing The Virtual Divide, but technical difficulties led to the release of a video titled FR-S Vs FT-1, which became one of the team's most popular uploads.
-
A Global Community of Support
TeamA99E continues to enjoy strong support from the virtual and real-life drift communities worldwide. Their legacy, built on competition, collaboration, and a passion for drifting, continues to inspire fans and fellow enthusiasts around the globe.
